Nan Whaley was elected Mayor of Dayton in 2013 and was mayor for 8 years. Whaley is a member of the Democratic party. Whaley served as President for the United States Conference of Mayors and is the founder of the Ohio Mayors Alliance. Whaley’s main points about building a better Ohio include: health care that puts patients first, gun regulation – stronger background checks, the right to an abortion, renewable energy.
Mike DeWine is the 70th and current governor of Ohio since Nov. 8, 2018. DeWine is a member of the Republican party. Before being elected to the Ohio Senate, DeWine was a prosecutor. Some of DeWine’s main points are cutting taxes, investing in law enforcement, bringing jobs back to Ohio and balancing budgets.
