Fitness Friday: Seven days of fitness

 

It is important to stay active and fit but at times it can be hard to know where to start and even harder to take that initial step to get yourself going. Short-term goals can be beneficial for those who struggle to get started on a workout plan and stick with it. One way to focus on exercising is to create fitness challenges, with the goal of completing the short-term plan before moving onto another one.

This week’s Fitness Friday presents a seven-day fitness challenge that provides a total body workout as well as the cardio needed to begin to get in better shape.

Monday

*10 push-ups

*20 squats

*15 lunges

*30-second plank

*35 jumping jacks

*Cool-down stretches

Tuesday

*15 push-ups

*30 squats

*25 lunges

*35-second plank

*45 jumping jacks

*Cool-down stretches

Wednesday

*10-minute walk/jog. Alternate 30 seconds of jogging with 30 seconds of walking for a total of 10 minutes.

Thursday

*20 push-ups

*35 squats

*20 lunges

*40-second plank

*40 jumping jacks

*Cool-down stretches

Friday

*25 push-ups

*40 squats

*15 lunges

*45-second plank

*35 jumping jacks

*Cool-down stretches

Saturday

Saturday is the rest day from the workout to let the muscles recover.

Sunday

*12-minute walk/jog. Alternate 45 seconds of jogging with 45 seconds of walking for a total of 12 minutes.

*20 push-ups

*35 squats

*30-second plank

*Cool-down stretches
