Local teacher and business owner Ashley Lefeld established Golden on Main in 2016 on Main Street in Coldwater. Throughout the years of operation, Golden on Main has provided shoppers with trendy and basic clothing for every occasion.

The boutique first opened in February of 2015 out of Lefeld’s home. While Lefeld was setting up an online interface, friends and family would come to trunk shows to purchase products.
“I’m a very creative person and I like to do all things fashion. I’ve always had an eye for things like that. I loved teaching and students, but I needed something as a creative outlook,” said Lefeld.
The name comes from the boutique’s location, on Main Street, and from the positive feelings Lefeld associated with gold. While the shop was first started out of Lefeld’s home, it grew to its current brick and mortar location and has a presence on most social media platforms.
Community
According to Lefled, there is more support for Golden on Main than ever before and new customers, through online shopping, have been ordering from all over America. Golden on main provides customers with a range of clothing options.
Because of the coronavirus, Golden on Main was reopened around May 16, 2020. Golden on Main focuses on listening to customers’ wants and needs throughout the changing world and seasons. Lefled noticed that most customers are not currently looking for wedding or concert attire, but instead are looking for more comfort clothing.
Local residents Bethany Graham and Katie Klosterman have both shopped at Golden on Main.
“I always feel like I am getting good quality items that hold up and so I feel like I get my money’s worth out of it,” said Graham.
“I love the trendiness of Golden on Main. The clothes are always fashionable, soft and stay up with the changing fashion scene in our area. I love to shop local and this place is a great way to do that,” said Klosterman.
Social media
“Social media drives about 75% of our traffic. We have people come in all of the time showing pictures from Facebook or Instagram that they want to find in our store,” said Lefeld.
Customers are also able to shop at Golden on Main’s website at www.goldenonmain.com all hours of the day. Items are in limited supply with new arrivals each week.
Golden on Main also houses handmade items such as candles, greeting cards and board games that customers are able to purchase. According to Lefeld, there are around 75 vendors housed in the boutique.
Golden on main has a social media presence on several platforms including Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram and Twitter, all under the name goldenonmain, or on Instagram as shopgoldenonmain.
They are located at 113 West Main Street in Coldwater and are open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Thursday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
