onlinediningexpo-300x225
Hungry students flooded the Atrium of the Student Union on Tuesday, Sept. 18for the Wright State Dining Services Sampling Expo. The 12-2 p.m. sampling event featured new foods, drinks and snacks that will be available on campus as soon as next week.

The sampling tables were organized into a large circle, as students lined up to take part in the feast.

Many food friendly businesses were represented, such as Pepsi, General Mills, Smartfood, Seattle’s Best, Kellogg’s, Smuckers and Sabra.

“We’re really happy about it,” said Dining Services Marketing Manager Andrew Deckert, “We’re glad [the vendors] could do this for the students and the university.”

Also in attendance was the small, Ohio-based business Windy Mills. According to Deckert, if the price is right, small businesses are always a great option.

“It’s doing good for the community,” said Deckert. “We like to support the local community.”

Cola, candy, whole grain cookies, cereal and coffee were a few of the many items offered at the Expo.

General Manager of Dining Services Danette Gioiello stated that these new items should be available next week at Union Market and the Hangar.

The C-store should also be receiving the new goods, though they are limited on space.

This event marks the first major sampling expo hosted by Dining Services, though it will not be the last.

According to Dekert, they will be working on another for spring semester.
