TV show seeking contestants from Ohio

A new television game show, called “Let’s Ask America,” is currently accepting cast members. This show is a daily, half-hour television show that lets people be a contestant on the show from the comfort of your own home via Skype. The game show aired on Sept.17 in 14 different markets all in the US.

“To be a contestant, all you have to do is go to the shows website and sign up” Stacey Snow, casting producer for “Let’s Ask America,” said. “Every day, four contestants will be chosen to play the game and win up to $50,000 cash via Skype from their home. The chances are high, I would say, on getting on the show. We are looking to cast hundreds of folks, so if you have a game show personality, energetic and opinionated then you have a great chance!”

Snow said that the process of the show’s production has been a blast, and has included long hours and hard work.

“A typical day for me is talking with people all over the U.S.!” Snow said. “It’s so fun and rewarding to see my favorite people win big bucks! I interview folks for the show and outreach to a zillion different places to get the word out. I would have to say, my job is pretty fun. My favorite thing about working on this show is being a part of something that might change how we play game shows forever! This concept is so new and innovative.”

This game show allows contestants to answer various questions for a cash prize.

“The game is simple: “Let’s Ask America” polls America about fun and irreverent topics to find out what people are thinking (e.g. Which of these shows did a group of prison inmates say they would chose to watch in their cell for an entire year? A) Dr.Phil, b) Days of Our Lives C) The View),” Snow said. “Then, all the contestants have to do is correctly predict the answer. The prize money increases with each question. There are three rounds and at the end of each round, the contestant with the lowest cash total is eliminated from the game.”

Snow said that the concept of this game show was created by Jeff Apploff, who also created “Don’t Forget the Lyrics” and “Take Me Out”, Todd Stevens, who created “Friends” and “Mike and Molly” and the late Jim Paratore. Apploff, Stevens and Jack Martin, who created “Deal or No Deal” will executive produce.

“Let’s Ask America” will launch nationally in fall of 2013. The host of the show is Kevin Pereira, who recently served as the host and creator of G4’s “Attack of the Show!” For more information about “Let’s Ask America” or if you want to be a contestant visit www.letsaskamerica.tv.
