Butler transfer to join Wright State

Wright State may not be playing Butler in basketball ever again since the Bulldogs bolted off to the Atlantic-10 Conference this offseason, but remnants of Butler will remain at the Nutter Center.

Former Butler Bulldog Chrishawn Hopkins, who was dismissed from the team by Butler head coach Brad Stevens will be transferring to Wright State to play for the Raiders.

Due to NCAA transfer rules Hopkins will not be able to play for WSU until midway through December next season which will be his junior season.  Hopkins will be eligible to play the entirety of his senior season in 2014-2015.

The 6’1 guard averaged 26 points in high school and averaged 9.1 points per game his sophomore year at Butler while averaging 23 minutes per game.

The Indianapolis native is taking classes this semester at a junior college but plans to sign his letter of intent in the future. Wright State head coach Billy Donlon cannot comment about Hopkins until Hopkins officially signs his letter of intent per NCAA rules.
