Student Government and SOBC funding

Student government officials discussed purchasing gift cards from outside businesses to use as prizes for Homecoming, but due to tax purposes, campus bookstore items were preferred. “The SOBC funds student government every year, so they can choose to audit us depending on how we spend our money”, said commuter senator Kyle Powell, who has access to the student government yearly budget.

The Student Organization Budget Committee (SOBC) funds all student organizations across campus. They decide which organizations to fund, and how much funding they receive.

Funding given to student government from the SOBC is fairly substantial because Wright State student government is one of the “Big Six”, a nickname given to the largest six student organizations on campus.
