Globetrotters stop in Dayton during eighty-seventh world tour

On Monday, Dec. 10, Buckets of the world famous Harlem Globetrotters will be in Dayton to talk about the team's 2013 "You Write the Rules" world Tour, the globetrotters' eighty-seventh consecutive season of touring the world.
Fans will choose the rules for the game. It could be anything from playing with two basketballs at once, to getting double the points for each basket made. Fans can see this performance at Wright State's Nutter Center at 2 p.m. on New Year's Eve. This will mark the thirteenth straight year.
The Harlem Globetrotters began in 1926 as the Savoy Big Five. Now more than 85 years and 20,000 games later, the team has become one of the most recognizable franchises in sports history. Globetrotters have been all over the world, appeared in films and TV shows, performed for the Pope and President Obama, have been saluted as "America's ambassadors of Goodwill" by President Gerald Ford and in 1985 signed their first ever female player, Olympic gold medalist Lynette Woodard.
Furthermore, they've had business tycoon Warren Buffett don a Globetrotters jersey and  dance with showman Big Easy Lofton during the 2011 "4 Times the Fun" World tour performance in Omaha, Nebraska. With 65 box office records set during the tour, the tallest college basketball player in history, 7'8'' Paul Sturgess, was drafted along with 2011 college Slam Dunk Champion Jacob Tucker, 2011 college 3-Point Champion Andrew Goudelock and 12-year-old ball handling sensation Jordan McCabe.
The Globetrotters are also on a tour-long campaign to promote breast cancer awareness, playing portions of their games with pink basketballs to help bring awareness to the cause.
