Library declines to remark on where fees and fines go

Wright State University offers students and WSU affiliates access to a large collection of works, including books, DVDs and other materials that must be returned prior to due date to avoid incurring a fine.

According to information attained from the WSU library webpage, the length of time required to pass before a fine is incurred varies depending on the material borrowed, in addition to the amount of the fine.

According to the WSU library website, the following conditions apply: circulating books may be borrowed for 28 days unless recalled for course reserves, media materials are due in 14 days, OhioLINK and SearchOhio books are due in 21 days, searchOhio media (not DVDs) are due in 21 days and OhioLINK media and SearchOhio DVDs are due in 7 days (most reserve materials have hourly loan periods). Other specifications are determined on the basis of whether the work is a book or material and fines increase incrementally.

When asked to provide information in regards to where the money collected by WSU libraries in late charges goes towards, the library declined to answer. Students incurring late fees are notified via email and can contact Computing and Telecommunication Services at 775-4827 should they experience issues with notices.
