Monte Carlo Night begins Parents Weekend with fun for everyone

Parents Weekend offers many activities for students and their parents including Monte Carlo Night.

The Residential Community Association (RCA) has planned Monte Carlo Night for past Parents Weekends. Not only does RCA plan Monte Carlo Night but they plan other events as well.

“This year we expect a very nice turnout of parents and students as this is a great time for students to share some quality fun time with their families,” junior and Director of Traditional Events for RCA  Ashley Cowan said.

Monte Carlo Night is very similar to Casino Night which was held in October. There will be Blackjack, Texas Hold‘em, Roulette and Beat the Dealer. There will also be music and prizes. Monte Carlo night is similar to Casino Night which was held during Homecoming last semester.

“The idea behind Parents Weekend is for residents to bring their parents to campus, no matter how far away they live, so they get a glimpse of what their child experiences at college,” junior and RCA member Karli Lightner said.

Monte Carlo night will be held on Jan. 25 in the Student Union Atrium.
