Greene County is set to welcome its first production brewery since 2001 on Saturday, April
13 in the Village of Yellow Springs. Their taproom inside the brewery will play host to beer enthusiasts from all over the
Miami Valley during the grand opening celebration between 1pm-9pm.
On tap will be an American Brown Ale, a French-style Saison and an English ESB among others. Special tappings of
limited beers will occur throughout the day. You can purchase samples of beer in a flight of four, by the glass or in a
take-home growler.
One of the area’s newest and much sought after mobile food trucks, Harvest Mobile Cuisine will be preparing food
throughout the day for everyone’s enjoyment in the Brewery.
The taproom debuts new work by Dayton skateboard artist Dave Ackels, who paints in reverse on found glass windows.
Ackels’ work will be hanging through June 2.
According to Owner Nate Cornett, “We believe in the spirit of local craft beer — that beer produced on a small scale is
not only better and fresher, but also more fun and maybe even more rewarding to drink than beer brewed on a huge
scale. Just like how locally grown produce tastes better and fresher, or how having a bit of locally made art hanging on
your wall just feels better. Whether it’s art, food, or beer, knowing who made it and where it’s made just makes the
product better.”
“With the explosion of craft beer in the United States over the last few years and more recently in the Miami Valley,
we are very excited for the grand opening of the Yellow Springs Brewery, said Allen Stebelton of the Greene County
Convention & Visitors Bureau. The number of people embarking on “beercations” or seeking out local beer options
when they travel makes for a natural and exciting partnership between the brewery and the CVB.”
Karen Wintrow, Executive Director of the Yellow Springs Chamber of Commerce is also looking forward to the opening.
“Yellow Springs Brewery is going to be the perfect addition to Yellow Springs, a community of creators that prides itself
on local products. Having our own craft brewery is an incredible combination of everything that makes Yellow Springs
special.”
