Directional signs installed throughout campus

Physical Plant installed new directional signs around campus that have color-coded directions to the surrounding buildings.

The installation of the green and white signs began about two weeks ago, according to Director of Physical Plant Jeff Trick.

The signs can be found in between Allyn and Rike Halls, in the corner of Fawcett Hall near Dunbar library and in front of University Hall.

Designs for the new signs began roughly a year ago, according to Vice president of Planning and Secretary to the Board of Trustees Robert Sweeney, who said the signs are mainly targeted to the visitors that come to WSU.

“We want the visitors to feel more comfortable,” said Sweeney.

The new signs not only provide direction to the halls, but also information about what is inside each building. Information about the cost of the signs was not available, however the expenses were a part of the WSU budget plans, according to Sweeney.

“The new signs will be pretty helpful for freshman and also for people who just might not know,” said WSU student Leah Rosenbeck.

Fellow WSU student Elise Hartzell also said that the new signs would be helpful for visitors, but commented that most students would not need to use them.

WSU student and Student Activities employee Vinicius Vargas said that the signs will help a lot with orientation and campus tours.
