Rocsi Diaz, an on-site reporter for Entertainment Tonight, has been chosen as the keynote speaker for Freshman Convocation, which will be held in the Wright State University Nutter Center on Friday, Aug. 23 at 3 p.m.
Diaz held a variety of different positions throughout her life. She worked her way through the country as a radio DJ, working for radio stations in Texas, Boston and Chicago and eventually moved on to co-anchor BET’s “106 & Park,” where she worked from 2006 to 2012 before taking her place with “Entertainment Tonight.”
Vice President for Enrollment Management Jacqueline McMillan said that the expected topic for Diaz’s speech is “It takes a village,” which made her an appealing candidate for the position as keynote speaker.
“It’s something that we here at Wright State University think about a lot, changing the community,” said McMillan. When asked what she believes students can learn from Diaz, McMillan said “Being involved and working for the greater good.”
McMillan said she encouraged "everyone" to attend Freshman Convocation, stating that “it’s not only for freshman, but faculty, staff and students as well.”
