Wright State alum Justin Fiehrer posted an article to the social news site BuzzFeed today entitled "16 Reasons Why Wright State Is the Greatest University in America…..Okay the Entire World."
Since its posting, the article has reached 5,000 views in six hours.
The article has circulated through sites such as Facebook and Twitter from WSU students. Many of the Facebook "shares" provoked responses filled with pride and jokes from current students and alumni alike.
As the title suggests, the article lists 16 perks of attending WSU, which will have the reader "on a plane to Dayton to enroll here immediately." Topping the list is the abstract sculpture "Turning Points," known among staff and students as "BART.” Other assets on the list include: outstanding athletics, a president cooler than your school's president, the persistently preaching "QuadGods," the tunnel system and the affordable tuition.
Justin Fiehrer, posting under pseudonym "rowdyraider8," posted the article.
"I enjoy reading things on BuzzFeed, and I've been wanting to post something so I chose something I enjoy and I thought a lot of my friends would enjoy reading it," Fieher said. "I loved attending Wright State and had a great experience there.”
Fiehrer offered some sage advice to students that his article might have convinced to attend WSU.
"Get involved and join as many things as you can because the social aspect of college will have just as much as an impact on your life as the academic aspect," said Fiehrer. "The skills you develop for your career and the friends you make will be determined by how much effort you put into the college experience.”
