Late registration fee delayed

Wright State University delayed the late registration fee due to the inclement weather and a system malfunction that occurred last week.

Marian Brainerd, the university registrar, stated that the original 100 dollar late registration fee was originally set to incur today, Jan. 13, but due to the university closing Monday and Tuesday of last week and a system malfunction that affected Banner and university email last Friday, WSU decided to postpone the late fee until Wednesday, Jan. 15, allowing students two additional days to get registered.

Brainerd believed that maintaining the original date of Jan. 13 would have been unfair to students who tried but were not able to register the previous week. “The University didn’t want to penalize students who may have tried to register on friday or who may have tried to meet with advisors last monday, so the decision was made to push the late registration fee back,” said Brainerd. Brainerd said that she believed this was an example of WSU making the “necessary changes” to help out it’s students. “I like to think that at Wright State, said Brainerd, “folks are thinking of the students.”
