Scott Lever, mission manager for NASA's ongoing Mars Exploration Rover program, will be speaking about his experiences with NASA and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory Jan. 23 at 7 p.m. in Wright State University’s Apollo Room.
Lever will discuss the Spirit and Opportunity missions and share some of the stunning images of the Martian surface captured by the rovers.
Premedical student Alia Eckhardt looks forward to attending the session.
"I'd like to know what's going on with the Mars missions because I haven't heard much about them in the news lately," Eckhardt said. "It will be nice to learn firsthand from someone involved. A lot of the information out there about these missions just seems like speculation and hearsay."
The event is free and open to the public. Preregistration is required for high school students and VIPs.
