The Wright State women's basketball team continued its quest for the No.1-overall seed in the Horizon League Tournament Tuesday night with a dominate 92-78 win over Oakland.
Kim Demmings led the Raiders with a season-high 36 points - two points shy of tying her career-high mark of 38 set two years ago. It was the sixth time this season Demmings has scored at least 30 points. 
Adding to Demmings spectacular night was guard KC Elkins, who turned in her best overall performance of the year. Elkins netted 27 points on 11-of-15 shooting, three rebounds, three assists and four steals.
The Raiders pulled away from the Golden Grizzlies in the second half. WSU shot nearly 67 percent from the field and outscored OU 52-39.
Forward Ja'Monica Orton started for the second-straight game in place of injured starter Tayler Stanton. Orton played just 13 minutes, scoring two points and grabbing three rebounds.
As a team, WSU forced 23 OU turnovers, which the Raiders turned into 30 points. The Raiders also held a 50-30 edge in points in the paint - an area that the Raiders have improved upon in recent games.
The win keeps the WSU (19-7, 8-3) right on the heels of Green Bay (15-7, 8-2) and Cleveland State (13-11, 8-3). The Vikings will play the Phoenix Friday in Green Bay in a pivotal matchup between the conference's top-ranked teams. The Raiders will visit the Detroit Titans Saturday at 2 p.m. WSU opened its HL schedule with an 82-57 win over Detroit on Jan. 5.
