Women's Basketball: James turning to professional ranks

Former Wright State guard Ivory James is in the process of joining a professional team and hiring an agent, according to Raiders head coach Mike Bradbury Tuesday afternoon.

Bradbury said that James had not yet signed a contract, "but hopefully will soon."

He said James is in the process of hiring an agent and added the process of finding a professional team to play on could take as long as month to finalize.

Junior guard Abby Jump tweeted at 12:27 p.m. today, "I really think I'm more excited that Ivory is going to play professionally than she is!"

James started all 35 games for the Raiders this season, averaging 17.2 points and 6.5 rebounds per game. She was named to the All-Horizon League First Team along with Horizon League Player of the Year Kim Demmings on March 10. James was also named Horizon League Newcomer of the Year last season.

Guardian Sports is awaiting comment from James. More updates will follow.
