Wright State hosted the Toledo Rockets Saturday afternoon in McLin Gym for a scrimmage that was closed to the general public and media. Toledo went 27-6 last season and the game gave the Raiders good experience going into the season.
While no official statistics were taken, Toledo outscored the Wright State according to sources. The teams played a 20-minute half followed by a 10-minute period and three 3-minute periods where the score reset and were played like overtimes.
Sources who watched Saturday's exhibition said coach Billy Donlon had his squad play uptempo. Those sources added that WSU played well in the post despite Toledo having a size advantage inside.
By rule, Donlon and members of the basketball team are unable to comment publicly due to NCAA rules on closed scrimmages.
WSU hosts Findlay in an exhibition Wednesday that is open to the fans and media.
