Native of New Carlisle, David A. Hartman, Ph.D., was among 6 people killed Monday after a twin-jet engine plane crashed near the airport in Gaithersburg, Maryland. He was 52.
A total of five others died in the crash, including the pilot and another passenger. On the ground, a mother and her two sons, ages three and one month, died when the plane crashed into their home. Experts believe that the plane stalled and was unable to generate enough lift to remain in the air.
Hartman worked for Nuventra Inc., a pharmacology company in Durham, N.C., where he was vice president of clinical pharmacology, pharmacokinetics and nonclinical development.
Hartman’s parents hope their son will be remembered as a spiritual man who held his faith and family at a high regard.
