Spend an evening with Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple, at Wright State University

Steve Wozniak will be presenting “An Evening with Steve Wozniak” on Wednesday, Feb. 4 at 7:00 p.m., at the Wright State University Nutter Center, where he will speak about the digital revolution and his experiences as Apple’s co-founder.

The theme for this year’s Presidential Lecture Series is “Impact through Advocacy, Innovation, and Inspiration.” Wozniak will be speaking on this subject as a part of the annual Presidential Lecture Series and the keynote for the 10th annual Honors Institute on The Digital Revolution.

Known for his innovative engineering skills, Wozniak designed Apple’s first line of computers, the Apple I and Apple II computers. He’s received several awards and recognitions for his work, such as the prestigious Heinz Award for Technology.

“Steve Wozniak is one of the great inventors of our times and one of the architects of the digital revolution,” said Susan Carafiello, Associate Professor and Director of the University Honors Program. “Many students today grew up familiar with Apple and likely still use many Apple products. By attending this presentation, students can learn about Steve Wozniak’s role in the co-founding of Apple with Steve Jobs, the nature of invention and innovation and the challenges of creating and leading the early personal computer industry.”

Wozniak’s speech will allow students to be able to discover more about the digital revolution that shaped the world we live in today. The tools for the invention of iPhones, iPads, computers and other technology we use daily is often credited to Wozniak and his partners, making him a pioneer for the digital revolution.

“[The digital revolution] has profoundly and significantly changed and affected every aspect of society and their lives. Students will have the opportunity to see and hear a true genius,” said Carrafiello.

No tickets are required for the presentation, as it is free and open to the public.
