Wright State's Board of Trustees met privately this morning for over two hours for a personnel matter.
Wright State President David Hopkins emerged from the back door of the former Wright-Patt Credit Union corporate office, which is currently unoccupied, with no comment.
The emergency gathering of the Board of Trustees was announced less than 48 hours in advance. Under state law, the board is allowed to hold emergency executive sessions only on special occasions. Those occasions include possible litigation, dismissal of a university employee or property acquisitions.
Wednesday's meeting came at a time many Division I schools are evaluating their basketball coaching staffs. When asked if the personnel matter involved the basketball team, Hopkins declined to comment.
Update: A source Wednesday night said the private meeting was likely not involving the basketball team. The source added that the current men's basketball coaching staff has the full support of the Athletics Department.
