This year marks the fourth annual April Craze (previously called May Daze) and it’s sure to be the biggest one yet.
The event differs from Fall Fest in that it focuses more on fun activities and freebies rather than information about campus organizations and campus life. All of the inflatables, the zip-line and so on will be free. Those wanting to participate in those bigger-scale activities will have to sign a waiver at the University Activities Board’s (UAB) table to receive a free wristband.
“For the first time ever, there’s going to be a 250-foot zip line going down the North Lawn,” said graduate assistant Nick La Torre. It will start at the plaza area around Hamilton Hall and zip down to the new classroom building being constructed.
Last year’s very popular Zombie Dogz food truck will be returning along with many other food vendors. The chicken wing eating contest will start at 12:30 p.m. at the UAB table. The winner will receive an iPad Mini.
“This event is a huge end-of-the-year thing,” said event organizer Michayla Fuller. “There will be a lot of fun stuff for everyone.”
April Craze runs from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. on the North Lawn (between the Student Union and BART).
