Right down the road on Colonel Glenn Highway rests a restaurant and bar that proudly boasts Wright State University’s colors. Wright Wing offers classic bar food, like wings, pizza, burgers and more.
Wright Wing is small in stature. There are only a few indoor tables and a bar for seating. However, the atmosphere isn’t bad when looking for a quiet place that isn’t crowded. There are a couple televisions on the walls like the average sports bar. It isn’t a classy joint by any means. On the spectrum from gourmet to dive, Wright Wing fits comfortably on the dive side.
When it comes to food, Wright Wing offers the basic menu for sports bars. Thinking that their specialty would be wings, I ordered boneless wings with a spicy garlic sauce. The wings weren’t that impressive for the price. In quality, they were a step below Buffalo Wild Wings and about the same price. Most of the time, it was a struggle to penetrate my wings with a metal fork.
The spicy garlic sauce was pretty tasty at first, but the more I ate of my wings, the more tiring the sauce became. I would only recommend this sauce to hardcore garlic fans. Twelve wings with this sauce proved to be a little too much for me. They also offer hot sauce and barbeque for their wings.
Based on their reputation alone, I found that wings aren’t really Wright Wing’s forte. I would suggest that potential customers would forego the wings and try the pizza, which I have heard can be pretty good. Wright Wing also has an alcohol selection with a few beers on tap.
All in all, Wright Wing is good if you are looking for a place that is not crowded during the day, that has the potential for decent bar food, give Wright Wing a try.
