EF-1 Tornado touches down in Beavercreek

A tornado touched down on Indian Ripple Road next to The Greene Shopping Center Tuesday afternoon. At least 20 cars were flipped or damaged and two people were sent to the hospital with minor injuries.

The funnel cloud touched ground near Waffle House, K-Mart, Sake Japanese Steak House and FitWorks, across from The Greene, causing damage to several of the buildings. The tornado was ranked at EF-1 by the National Weather Service.  An EF-1 tornado is defined by moderate damage to surrounding areas, roofs severely ripped, windows or glass broken, or loss of exterior doors, according to the National Weather Service.
