Wright State’s men’s soccer team has been on a tear recently and doesn’t seem to be slowing any time soon.
The Raiders (6-1, 1-0) opened up league play with a 1-0 win at Cleveland State Saturday evening, just days after a hard-fought home win against West Virginia.
Wright State’s win Saturday came in extra minutes, after neither team could find the net in regulation. Junior forward Peguy Ngatcha saved the day, just 30 seconds into overtime, propelling the Raiders to their fourth straight win on his fifth goal of the season.
The win also marks goalkeeper Tyler Blackmer’s fourth shutout of the season.
The Raiders lead the conference with 14 goals scored this season. They will look to continue their level of play throughout the remainder of their Horizon League schedule.
Wright State returns home Tuesday, Sept. 22 for their match against new conference member Northern Kentucky. The game will be televised at 7 p.m. on ESPN 3
