Wright State’s men’s soccer continued to roll in their win against Eastern Illinois Saturday. The Raiders move to 4-1 on the season after shutting out the Panthers 2-0. This marks the second straight shut out of the season and third overall for junior goalkeeper Tyler Blackmer.
Junior forward Eric Lynch, last year’s Horizon League Player of the Year, scored his first goal of the season when he put WSU on the board with just about seven minutes left to play.
Peguy Ngatcha, the conference’s leading scorer, failed to find the back of the net but still made his mark with assists on both of Wright State’s goals.
Freshman midfielder Jackson Dietrich, the conference’s leading assist man, switched places with Ngatcha, scoring his second goal of the season at the 88th minute, putting the Raiders up 2-0.
Wright State’s next match is Sept. 15 at 7 p.m. against West Virginia at Alumni Field.
