Last day to register to vote quickly appoaches

Ohioans have until Monday, Oct. 5 to register or update their voter information if they plan to cast their ballots on Nov. 3.

Among the other numerous initiatives on the ballot this year is the statewide legalization of marijuana for medical and recreational use, a proposition that has stirred up a frenzy of controversy over the years.

Voter can register or update their information through the County Board of Elections in person or by mail as well as through local BMV offices. Voter registration forms can also be picked up at any Ohio public library or County Treasurer Office. Online registration is not available.

Associate Professor for Wright State’s Political Science Program Lee Hannah recommends that all students take the time to vote on Election Day.

“I encourage all students to get involved in the electoral process,” Hannah said. “Voting gives students a voice in important policy decisions, and we often underestimate how critical these decisions are to our daily lives, and sometimes, the elections that matter most to our daily lives are the state and local elections that don't garner the same amount of attention.”
