Women's basketball off to best start in school history

Wright State women’s basketball team will look to win their sixth straight game as they host Mount St. Joseph at the Nutter Center on Tuesday, Dec. 15.

The Raiders (9-2) are undefeated (5-0) at the Nutter Center this season and have won 13 straight at home dating back to last season.

Last time out for WSU, freshman guard Symone Simmons drained a game winning 3 pointer with 6.1 seconds remaining in a 71-69 victory over Eastern Kentucky.

Freshman guard Emily Vogelpohl scored 11 fourth quarter points as she led the Raiders with a career-high 20 points.  Simmons also finished with a career-high 12 points after making five of six field goal attempts.

Mount St. Joseph (1-6) is coming off of their only victory of the season with a 64-57 victory over Manchester on Saturday, Dec. 12.

Lions guard Ciera Phillips leads the team with an average of 12.6 points and 8.1 rebounds per game.

Through 11 games, the Raiders are off to their best start in school history while senior guard Kim Demmings leads the team with an average of 21.1 points per game.

Demmings is 94 points away from tying Bill Edwards as Wright State's all-time scorer for men's and women's basketball (2303 points).

The game will tip-off at 7 p.m.
