Second annual Tunnel Takeover returns to raise money for WSU

The second annual Tunnel Takeover, a competitive fundraiser between student organizations, began on Monday, Feb. 8 and will last until Thursday, Feb. 25.

Tunnel Takeover aims to raise money for the Rise. Shine. Scholarship and Campaign, which is raising funds to expand scholarships and help cover construction costs in an effort to increase Wright State’s prominence among universities.

According to the Student Philanthropy Council’s event page for Tunnel Takeover, student organizations will compete in three different size categories. The highest earning student organization in each category will win a prize of $1,000.

To cap off the festivities, Tunnel Takeover will include a 5k walk through the Wright State tunnel system, stretching from the Millett Atrium to the Student Union.

The Office of Annual Giving and the Office of Alumni Relations created Tunnel Takeover in conjunction with the Student Philanthropy Council and the Student Alumni Association.

Student organizations interested in participating can contact Katie McGrath, President of the Student Philanthropy Council for more information.
