Anthony LeDonne to give free lecture on Dead Sea Scrolls

Religion professor Anthony LeDonne will give a lecture titled "Jesus, John and the Dead Sea Scrolls" on Wednesday, Mar. 16.

LeDonne currently teaches courses on the New Testament and Second Temple Judaism at United Theological Seminary in Trotwood, Ohio.

"He is a nationally recognized expert in the quest for "historical Jesus," namely the study of Jesus' historical context and how he fit into 1st Century CE Judaism of the land of Israel," Wright State religion associate professor Mark Verman said. "Attendees can expect to acquire a deeper appreciation of what Jesus and John the Baptist were doing and why."

LeDonne has written several books (available at bookstores and Amazon) some of which include: The Wife of Jesus: Ancient Texts and Modern Scandals and Historical Jesus: What Can We Know and How We Can Know It?

The lecture will take place tonight at 7:30 p.m in E163 Student Union and is open to the public.
