Beavercreek Primanti Bros. opens today

Primanti Bros. is set to open Wednesday, April 13 on North Fairfield Road right next to the new IHOP.

Primanti Bros. started in Pittsburgh and has been growing ever since. This is the second location in Ohio, the other being in Youngstown Ohio.

“For more than 80 years we’ve been focused on feeding hardworking people who have a ton of hometown pride. We think Ohio – and - the Dayton/Beavercreek area specifically – is a perfect match for who we are,” director of marketing for Primanti Bros. Ryan Wilkinson said.

WSU student Michael Porter thinks that this new Beavercreek location “will attract many college age customers. Most college kids like to go out to eat, and having a close location to school will help draw in business”.

Being that Primanti Bros. will be so close it will be convenient for on-campus and commuter students to go and have a good meal with friends.

“Our original location was a late-night destination as people stopped in after a night out - most of which were college students. Our restaurant in Beavercreek is bigger than our original and it’s open to students, families and the entire community. But we’re always up for a good time,” Wilkinson said.

“Our “Almost Famous” sandwich has made us, well, almost famous,” Wilkinson said. “It’s two pieces of thick cut Italian bread – piled high with grilled meat, cheese, a vinegar-based coleslaw, french fries and tomato. If you aren’t feeling that, we’ve got pizza, burgers, salads and something behind the bar called a Drunk Duck.”

The “Almost Famous” sandwich is different from items that you would find at other restaurants.

“I think that people will be willing to try a variety of foods, and once they do, they’ll find some favorites,” Porter said.

Primanti Bros. is proud to have that variety and still have some familiar favorites for people not willing to step out of their comfort zone.

“Tons of food at a pretty small price tag. We’re not a chain restaurant – you can come to a Primanti’s get a slice of pizza served on a paper plate with a beer during Happy Hour and leave for less than five bucks. We aren’t Applebee’s – and we’re proud of that,” Wilkinson said.

Porter believes that the restaurant seems casual enough that you can easily stop by after class without dressing up. He also said “The prices will probably be affordable and most college age people don’t have much money”.

They also provide normal specials during their happy hour which is Sunday through Friday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. They also have daily specials, craft beer specials and food specials throughout the week.

“We’ve been focused on becoming a real part of the communities we serve. We give back. We know our fans. With the great deals, good food, awesome atmosphere and plenty of TV’s - we think we’ll do all right,” Wilkinson said.
