Comedian Francisco Ramos performs at WSU

The Residential Community Association brought comedian Francisco Ramos to WSU, who performed in Medical Sciences 120 on Friday, April 8 from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Ramos is a comedian as well as a writer and actor, and has contributed his acting talents to movies like “Marmaduke” and “Rio,” in addition to other movies and television shows. Ramos can also be seen in a Netflix original television series called “Lady Dynamite,” a mockumentary style comedy which will come out on May 20.

As an immigrant from Venezuela, his experiences growing up in a different culture contribute to his stand-up routine, with comedic anecdotes that Ramos shares from his past. His experiences in love give him ammunition for laughs as well.

Freshman Psychology major Anthony Hager enjoyed his time at the show and thought it deserved a bigger audience.

“I thought he was hilarious,” Hager said. “I thought it was unfortunate that there was such a small crowd, but he did a really good job of making it fun. He was able to ask us questions, so that involved us a lot. That made it fun.”
