There's no reason to stay at home this weekend because there's plenty to do in Dayton and the surrounding area. Put on your adventurer's hat and get ready to have some fun. We've compiled a list of things to do, and we're sure you'll be conflicted—after all, there's only so many things you can fit into one saturday!
1. Celtic Festival: Located in Waynesville, this weekend-long festival celebrates Irish and Scottish heritage with music, food, dancing, bagpipes, genealogy and border collie demonstrations. The event runs from Saturday, June 18 at 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., until Sunday, June 19 at 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
2. Vectren Dayton Airshow: Entrance fees for college-aged students are $25, with appearances from the A-18 Hornet and the F-22 Raptor. The Blue Angels have cancelled their appearance following an accident resulting in the death of a pilot on June 2, but the event is still sure to wow guests. The airshow is open Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
3. Free Yoga at Riverscape: Attend this free workout session with yogi Tori Reynolds, located at Riverscape, one of Dayton Five Rivers MetroParks' downtown locations. The free yoga session begins at 10 a.m. and lasts for an hour.
4. Summer Solstice Lavender Festival: Located at Peaceful Acres Lavender Farm in Martinsville, Ohio, this gorgeous festival includes food, games, music and of course–lavender! The event begins Saturday, June 18 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and lasts until Sunday, June 19 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
