Take a staycation at these 5 Ohio locations

Vacations are part of what makes the summer a memorable time of year, but that does not mean a large amount of money needs to be spent to have an enjoyable summer. Ohio has plenty of unique locations to explore.

  1. The Chateau Laroche
Located in Loveland, Ohio, this is a spectacular medieval structure. This castle was built entirely by hand by one person, Sir Harry Andrews. With it only being $5 a person, this is an affordable experience that is priceless

  1. Wegerzyn Gardens
These beautiful gardens are located in Dayton, located within the Five Rivers Metroparks. These enchanting gardens offer endless possibilities. This park is located by the Stillwater River and include rose, federal, English and Victorian gardens.
  1. Hocking Hills State Park
This state park is very well known in Ohio, but for very good reasons. Hocking Hills is home to Ohio’s most well-known hiking trails and caves. The most well-known being Old Man’s Cave, giving plenty of opportunity for exploration.
  1. Landoll’s Mohican Castle
Located in Loudonville (near Mansfield, Northeast of Columbus), this is a getaway that offers activities such as murder mystery dinners and ghost hunts. This castle offers a unique experience, letting the imagination run wild.

  1. Cleveland Botanical Gardens
This garden features ten acres of outdoor gardens an 18,000 square foot glasshouse garden. Despite being in the middle of a busy city, the garden acts as a whimsical getaway.
