Holly-Kristina Averette is a student at Wright State University.
With three alumni from the university in her family -- the expectations certainly couldn't be any higher.
Though Ohio born and raised, her family is from Alabama.
Holly works for the Provost's Office at WSU -- she is the first point of contact with the student body for visitors, an important function for the administration.
“I am still afraid of public speaking," Averette said.
In spite of her fears she still puts her best foot forward. She wasn't always sure if she was going to be a mass communication major, she originally wanted to major in sociology.
She was inspired to change her major after taking a public speaking class, and said how it pulled her out of her shell.
Even in light of her expressed fears, her life has taken her overseas.
She lived in Daegu, South Korea for several years -- her time there has built friendships that span the globe.
Those years in Korea have served her well, bringing new viewpoints to WSU.
It will certainly do her well in the future, she hopes to intern at Buzzfeed, Viceland or The Food Network.
With an expected graduation in 2019, a scant 13 months separates her from the rest of her career.
