With the Wright State Chapter of the American Association of University Professors, or AAUP, having recently filed a 10-day strike notice, students have a lot of questions about what will happen if a strike occurs. One thing students can be sure of is that campus recreation will continue to run as planned.

Although some faculty may demonstrate in the event a strike does occur, their impact does not affect the fitness center or other parts of campus recreation. The fitness center will resume normal business hours once the semester starts and everything will be staffed as usual. Fitness classes will go on as scheduled, as will personal training.

Another aspect of campus recreation, intramurals, will also continue as usual. Registration for the winter/spring-season sports will continue and it is expected that the usual open gym times will still occur in both the McLin gym and the Nutter Center gym.

All scheduled athletic events will continue to occur, including basketball games. There are several athletic events on the schedule for January; most notably, the women’s and men’s home conference basketball games.
