On Oct 28, Wright State announced their new president would be Dr. Susan Edwards the current provost of the institution.
“After carefully considering the best options for the university and after discussing the matter with employee and student leaders, we believe Dr. Edwards is the right person to take the university forward,” said Sean Fitzpatrick, chair of the Board of Trustees.
During an Oct 26, board of trustees meeting it was voted unanimously to select Edwards.
The current university president, Dr. Cheryl Schrader will be retiring on Dec 31.
“We have so much going for us. We are committed to providing a high quality, high outcome education,” Edwards said. “And I’ve enjoyed my opportunity to engage with faculty, staff and students and continue conversations this semester so that we may work together to move the university forward.”
The Wright State Guardian has yet to receive a additional comments about the interim positions of Walt Branson, Vice President of Finance or Dr Gary Dickstein, interim Vice Provost of Student Affairs.
