The Student Government Association (SGA) held its weekly meeting on Dec. 3, discussing upcoming events, initiatives, a resolution and more. Here are the top five takeaways from Tuesday night’s meeting:
Upon unanimous approval, SGA passed resolution 20-05 honoring President Cheryl Schrader for her time at Wright State.
“It has been my pleasure to serve as the president here at WSU,” said President Schrader.
Director of Accessibility, Health, and Safety Seth Hohlbein met with a student that is advocating for accessibility for students on campus. Hohlbein has taken those concerns to Tom Webb, director of Disability Services, proposing a plan to set up a database to report accessibility barriers.
Director of Outreach and Collaboration Austin Rex touched on Raider Roundup, a collaboration event with ‘67 Society that will take place next semester on Jan. 24.
President Ivan Mallett motioned to adopt SGA’s new constitution and bylaws, which had its final revisions. Upon its finalization, the new constitution and bylaws will go into effect on Jan. 1.
In accordance with a section of the constitution, Mallett declared the university of college senator position vacant.
SGA meetings are held every Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Student Union Atlantic Room 157. All meetings are open to the public.
