Given the season, music plays an important role in the spirit of the holidays.
With that being said, the topic of holiday music can be quite controversial; some listeners believe it to be designated only during the holidays, and some believe it acceptable to listened to any time of the year.
While some songs may be difficult to listen to on repeat, there are classics that will never get old. Here is a list of holiday songs that won’t get on your last nerves:
“All I Want for Christmas Is You” – Mariah Carey
If there ever was a song that, when played, instantly makes its listeners get up and dance to their heart’s content, it would be this one. For most people, it can play on the radio a million times and will never get old. The best part is, whether you know the lyrics or not, you will still be dancing and singing the few words you know with a huge smile on your face.
“Underneath the Tree” – Kelly Clarkson
Similar to “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” this song will automatically have its listeners feeling jolly and ready to decorate for the holidays. Although Christmas is over, it wouldn’t hurt to play this chipper song while taking down decorations. If you are sad about the holidays ending, this will hopefully soften the blow.
“It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year” – Andy Williams
The moment this song starts, excitement sets in. Christmas time is officially here, along with the delightful scent of bonfires in the air and the hustle and bustle of holiday shopping. There is no doubt that once this song comes on, everyone feels the joy of the holidays.
“Sleigh Ride” – The Ronettes
Picture it: holiday shopping, or any kind of shopping, with “Sleigh Ride” blasting on the speakers; it makes the task a lot more fun. Grab some coffee and your evening of shopping is set.
“Winter Wonderland” – Michael Bublé
This holiday classic has been sung by quite a few people, but Michael Bublé takes the cake. Let the jazz ensemble, accompanied by Bublé’s soothing and confectionary voice, transport you to a snowy cottage lit by a warm fire with the delicious taste of hot chocolate on your lips. One can never go wrong with a winter wonderland, be it physically or auditorily.
