Spring break is among Wright State University students, but not everyone has the chance to take an extravagant trip out of state for the week-long break.
There are plenty of activities in the Miami Valley to make the best of a staycation.
Pedal Wagon Dayton
Experience popular restaurants and breweries while getting a work-out. The Pedal Wagon takes passengers throughout Dayton and hosts several different types of cruises. Some of the most popular include trivia, brunch, or the Oregon Hop, which is a tour of the Historic Oregon District.

Carillon Brewing Company
Attached to Carillon Historical Park is a brewery. Among all of the activities that the park offers, a brewery adds to the experience. Park-goers can expect to have an authentic experience at the brewery, where employees share the heritage of the brewery.

Mound Science and Energy Museum
This museum is located on the site of the old Mound Laboratory complex, which was previously extremely confidential. This facility is now used as a museum to display projects from the Space Race and the Manhattan Project, both of which were significant for the Dayton area.

Wild Axe Throwing
If you haven’t already heard, axe throwing is all the rage and has made its way to the Dayton Area. The facility has adult drinks on-site and even the option to have private party rooms.
2nd Street Market
The market is a great place to catch a quick meal or buy fresh, local products. The market is open year-round and is located in an old railroad building. Shoppers can often stumble upon an artist at work or live music happening.

Dayton International Peace Museum
The Peace Museum is in the historic Isaac Pollock house, which sits at three stories tall filled with history. The museum is the online brick and mortar peace museum in the country. They promote awareness of a history of peace and nonviolence.

Flyer - Greater Dayton RTA
If you’re looking to see many different sites in Dayton, Greater Dayton RTA offers The Flyer. This ride runs every ten minutes and will take passengers to various landmarks and bus stops, free of charge.

Woodland Cemetery
This historic cemetery is known as a garden and arboretum, as well as a resting place to many distinguished names in the Dayton area such as the Wright Brothers and Paul Laurence Dunbar. This land has been Woodland Cemetery and Arboretum since 1841.

The Historic Oregon District is a destination area no matter what you’re looking for. There are countless restaurants, coffee houses, and shopping opportunities.
