Members of the Student Government Association (SGA) are in the process of developing or implementing plans to increase student involvement on campus.
Upcoming engagement events
Notable events planned for this fall are the College of Science and Math’s Festival of Research, The College of Engineering and Computer Science baseball game against Hamilton on Oct. 8, and The Speaker of the House’s, Dai’Shanae Moore, SGA meet and greet at Scene 75 for Labor Day Weekend.
Education initiatives
Moore also proposed the creation of more workshops focused on gender and pronoun education on campus. This proposal has the support of faculty member Dr. Nicole Carter, Director of Wright State University Women’s Center.
Commuter involvement programs
The Commuter Senator, Alaina Collins, announced a sharp increase in participation in WSU’s Commuter Student Association (CSA). Collins attributed both fall fest and in-person classes to the increase.
Collins expects this week's CSA meeting, Friday, Sept. 3, to also help increase commuter campus involvement.
SGA meetings are currently held every Tuesday at 7 p.m. in University Hall and are open to the public.
