The biggest university-wide celebration of the year will return to Wright State University this spring in the form of hippie-themed activities, food, and more craze-worthy destressors.
Hosted by the University Activities Board, April Craze, will make its return to WSU’s campus on April 22 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m on the North Lawn, Mall and Quad. This year’s April Craze is themed ‘hippie’ and will be the first April Craze since 2019.
What is it?
Students attending April Craze, can expect an activity-based spring celebration, which includes food, free prizes and games. This year, the zipline and bounce houses will return under favorable weather conditions in addition to external vendors such as Chick-Fil-A, Wings-On-Wheels, Beavercreek Floral Shop and more.
University departments and student organizations will be represented at April Craze, with an activity at each of the tables. The last date to register for a table at April Craze is April 14 for University affiliates.
“This is a great event for student orgs and other organizations trying to get the word out,” student Kyaira Miller said.
Planning
The event is fast approaching and UAB’s planning is well underway. The planning committee is overcompensating for the number of students who are unaware of what April Caze is by pushing campus-wide advertising.
“April Craze is going to bring back the fun to campus. With COVID, we are just now easing all of those restrictions. People are still trying to find their place on campus, that is where UAB comes in to create events like this,” UAB Director of Specialty Events Isabelle Rice said. “We are trying to get back to being a big community on campus. We want everyone to get to celebrate but also meet new people on campus and still find ways to get involved.”
Why should you come?
UAB Advisor and associate director in the Student Involvement and Leadership office Debbie Lamp invites every student to visit the event and interact with all the organizations on campus.
“This is a celebration that we made it through the academic year,” she said. “We are hoping that if you come it will be one of your favorite days on campus.”
