Hear stories about Greene County’s spooky past on Friday, Oct. 21 at Russ Nature Reserve, which is located at 2380 Kemp Road, in Beavercreek.
According to the event announcement, interested persons can look forward to the ghastly tales of Greene County, as revealed by storyteller Mel Grosvenor.
These stories will be told, amidst the crackling of a campfire, from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., which is also a perfect time to roast hot dogs and enjoy the drinks provided, per the release.
According to the event page, registration is open to all ages and closes on Oct. 21. Anyone interested in registering for this event can do so here. There is a four dollar fee per person.

President Biden and the U.S. Department of Defense released the Biden-Harris Administration’s National Security Strategy on Oct. 12.
“The Strategy is rooted in our national interests: to protect the security of the American people, to expand economic opportunity, and to realize and defend the democratic values at the heart of the American way of life,” said a fact sheet released by the administration.
The outline of this strategy includes four main points.
First, “cooperation in the age of competition,” which involves strategic competition and shared challenges.
Second is “investing at home,” which includes investments in the private sector and the U.S. military.
Third is “our enduring leadership,” focusing on bipartisan support at home and abroad.
Finally is the plan for affirmative engagement “to advance peace and security and to promote prosperity in every region.”
U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin welcomed the release of the strategy in an Oct. 13 statement, outlining the DOD’s plan.
“We will seamlessly combine our capabilities to convince potential adversaries that the costs of their hostile activities far outweigh any possible benefits—in all theaters, in all domains, and across the spectrum of potential conflict. Meanwhile, we will continue to move boldly to strengthen and modernize our outstanding military, which provides the foundation of deterrence and makes clear our ability to prevail in conflict,” Austin said in a statement.

El Clásico, a match between futbol clubs F.C. Barcelona and Real Madrid, was on Sunday, Oct. 16.
Before the match, both teams had played eight games each, according to a preview from Real Madrid; F.C. Barcelona was ahead of Real Madrid by one goal in the standings.
El Clásico is always highly anticipated, and with this being the first meeting of the season between these two clubs, the atmosphere was set for an incredible match.
