Local

The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund’s “The Wall That Heals” national tour came to the Washington-Centerville Public Library from July 27-30. According to the VVMF website, “The Wall That Heals” includes a replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. 

“The traveling exhibit honors the more than three million Americans who served in the U.S. Armed Forces in the Vietnam War, and it bears the names of the 58,281 men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in Vietnam,” the website reads. 

The tour will return to Ohio in August and October. 

National

On July 24, 18-year-old Bronny James, son of Los Angeles Lakers star Lebron James, suffered cardiac arrest at a University of Southern California practice, according to an ESPN press release; three days later, the hospital released Bronny James. 

“Everyone doing great. We have our family together, safe and healthy, and we feel your love. Will have more to say when we’re ready, but I wanted to tell everyone how much your support has meant to all of us,” Lebron James wrote in a post on X, formerly Twitter. 

Global

According to a press release from the World Meteorological Organization and data from the Copernicus Climate Change Service, the month of July is set to be the warmest month on record. July 6 was the hottest day on record, with the first three weeks of July setting a record for the three-week period. 

“The extreme weather, which has affected many millions of people in July, is unfortunately the harsh reality of climate change and a foretaste of the future,” the World Meteorological Organization’s Secretary General Petteri Taalas said in the press release.
