On Wednesday, Oct. 18, there was a reported burglary in Maple Hall on the Dayton campus of Wright State University. According to a university-wide communication on Oct. 19, there was no crime, as housing maintenance had removed an empty box from a dorm room.
National
Ohio Republican Representative Jim Jordan lost a third bid for Speaker of the House on Friday, Oct. 20, leaving the House without a Speaker for yet another week, according to an Associated Press release.
As of Oct. 23, the House has been without a Speaker for 20 days.
Global
Israel continues to airstrike and attack Gaza, where residents are facing a cutoff of food, water and electricity, according to an Associated Press release. Despite the delivery of aid from Egypt, the United Nations agency for Palestinian refugees is still concerned with their lack of fuel, which will only exacerbate the refugees’ mounting problems.
