SGA Dinner | Photo by Kit Rheyne | The Wright State Guardian
Instead of its weekly meeting, Wright State’s Student Government Association held a dinner in honor of Dean of Students Dr. Chris Taylor to thank him for all he has done for the group.
Why the dinner was held
The dinner was held for Dean Taylor to thank him, especially for how he helped SGA.
“I will definitely miss his friendship. Since I was elected, I have definitely gotten very close with him,” SGA President Stephanie Buettner said. “I know that the students will miss knowing they always have someone in their corner and to advocate for them.”
According to Buettner, Dean Taylor was always there for students and did what he could for them at all times; when a student needed someone to advocate for them or even just needed a friend, they could go to Dean Taylor for help. The university will miss Dean Taylor immensely.
Old Scratch Pizza
SGA chose one of Dean Taylor’s favorite establishments, Old Scratch Pizza, to hold the dinner. Buettner mainly organized the event with help from Julie Bertsos, an administrative assistant to the dean.
A relaxing atmosphere
The dinner was a very pleasant and relaxed event with just SGA and Dean Taylor spending time together in the same way one would meet an old friend for dinner. There was lively conversation and everyone had an amazing time.
The conversations were interesting and enjoyable. There were a variety of topics discussed, from sports to personal stories to anything someone thought of. The conversations were open and relaxed. Dean Taylor was an incredible mentor and friend to students, especially those in SGA.
SGA will resume their weekly meetings at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 24, in the Student Union Atlantis A/B room.
