On Nov. 1, Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow was named the American Football Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the team’s win against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 8, according to a press release from the Bengals.
During the game, Burrow completed 28 of 32 passes with zero interceptions. This is Burrow’s sixth AFC Offensive Player of the Week award.
National
The Texas Rangers beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 4-1 to win the World Series—the first in franchise history for Texas. The Rangers won the final game on Wednesday, Nov. 1, by a score of 5-0. Rangers shortstop Corey Seager was named the Most Valuable Player after the series.
Global
According to an Associated Press release, the death toll in the Israel-Hamas war has surpassed 9,700 as of Nov. 5; of the 9,700 dead, 3,600 were children. Hamas currently holds over 200 hostages.
On Nov. 1, the Rafah border crossing opened, allowing foreign passport holders and Palestinians to leave Gaza.
