Burglary on WSU Dayton campus
On Friday, Feb. 9, Wright State Police responded to a reported burglary at 2040 Village Drive on the Dayton campus, according to a university-wide email communication. A lunchbox and kitchen towels were stolen between 5:30 and 8:15 p.m.

Kansas City Chiefs win Super Bowl LVIII
On Sunday, Feb. 11, the Kansas City Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers 25-22 to win Super Bowl LVIII. This is the third Super Bowl win for Kansas City since 2020.
Woman opens fire in megachurch
On Sunday, Feb 11, a woman opened fire in celebrity pastor Joel Osteen’s megachurch in Texas, according to the Associated Press. Two off-duty officers killed the unidentified shooter, who brought a 5-year-old boy with her; the boy was also shot and is in critical condition. One man is in stable condition with a hip wound.

Russia launches drones into Ukraine
On Sunday, Feb. 11, Russia launched 45 drones over nine different regions of Ukraine, including the nation’s capital of Kyiv, according to the Associated Press.
“The five-and-a-half-hour attack targeted agricultural facilities and coastal infrastructure, officials for Ukraine’s southern defense forces wrote on Telegram. They said that a strike in the Mykolaiv region had injured one person, sparking a fire and damaging nearby residential buildings,” the press release reads.
Marathon world-record holder dies in car crash
According to the Associated Press, the marathon world record-holder, Kelvin Kiptum, died in a car crash with his coach, Gervais Hakizimana, in Kenya on Sunday, Feb. 11.
