The Student Government Association met on Tuesday, Jan. 30. It was another brief meeting, where not much was discussed aside from some various announcements.
The Healthy Minds Survey
The JED Foundation is analyzing the Healthy Minds Survey, which was conducted in the fall. Over 22% of Wright State students completed this survey.
“We had over [a] 22% response rate to that, which really doesn't sound like a lot, but in that kind of assessment work, that's a really, really good number. The university does have the results back,” Eric Corbitt, director of the Student Union and Campus Recreation and interim dean of students, said.
More information on the survey results will be coming out soon. Corbitt suggested that SGA look over the results in the future.
General announcements
Registration for summer classes will start Monday, Feb. 5. Fall classes will become available for viewing sometime this month, and registration will begin next month.
Fraternity and sorority recruitment is still going on. Anyone who wants to learn more or is interested in joining can visit the WSU Greek Life website.
Stephanie Buettner, President of SGA, said that the Director of Internal Affairs position is open. Students can send Buettner resumes or questions at sga1@wright.edu.
The Rowdy Bobblehead Award
The Rowdy Bobblehead Award is a tradition where the previous award-holder passes the bobblehead to another member of SGA for recognition and gratitude.
Steven Truong, director of inclusive excellence and accessibility, passed the Rowdy Bobblehead Award to Hannah Davidson, the College of Science and Math senator.
“She helps me out all the time,” Truong said.
“Thank you, Steven. I’m so glad you’re in SGA,” Davidson replied.
SGA will meet again on Tuesday, Feb. 6, at 8 p.m. in the Student Union Atlantis A/B room.
